Aesthetic eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) involves operating on the
upper and/or lower eyelids. The object of the surgery is to remove
the build-up of excessive skin than adds a heavy and tired look to
the whole face, and can even diminish the patients ability to see
clearly.
Surgery is carried out on the lower eyelids to remove the puffy-eyed
look, which inevitably makes one look older and very tired.
The operation is undertaken using a local anaesthetic. Stitches
are removed after 5 to 7 days. Swelling and bruising will disappear
after 10 to 15 days. After a further 2 to 3 months, the eyelids
will be completely recovered, soft, smooth and with minimal scarring.
